Welcome to ‘Unico’- a new festival
calendar, covering some of the unique events unknown to
many, bizarre to others and nostalgic to locals. The calendar
will be revised monthly until we have a collection for a
full year. Everyone is encouraged to participate by suggesting
festivals below in the comments.
March
(day of full moon) Holi
All over Nepal
Holi, also known as the Festival of colour, is one of
the most picturesque festivals in the world. On the
day of full moon everyone throws buckets of paint at
each other. The celebration symbolizes the good over
evil and the transition into spring. Historically, Holi
was one of God’s favourite festivals and apparently
one year he got carried away.
